Andy's Community Cafe

Andy's is our new community cafe operating on a "pay-as-you-feel" basis.  The opening hours are  10am-2.30pm, Monday to Thursday, during school term-times.

We have a set priced range of drinks, cakes and meals and also a pay-as-you-feel range including soup and bread, tray bake, special of the day and beans on toast.

Pay-as-you-feel means that anyone who is hungry can come and eat paying as much, or as little as they feel able, with no questions asked.

We look forward to welcoming you in Andy's Community Cafe!

Andy's Community Cafe

Managers Amanda and Mary serve delicious seasonal food, freshly prepared to order, and home-made cakes. The coffee and teas are all Fairtrade where possible.

We're at Goldsworth Park Centre, next to the shops. It's a great place to stop if you've been for a walk round the lake!

You’ll find your favourite coffee: cappuccino, mocha, latte and regular coffees using freshly ground ingredients from quality suppliers. It's been said we have the best cups of coffee in town – but we don’t charge ‘town centre’ prices!

You’ll meet all ages at Andy's: mums and toddlers, the elderly and many working people who choose to meet to discuss business or to socialise here. In fact we invite local workers to bring their lunches to eat here - there's no need to buy anything.

We have a very popular toddler area, complete with a train track, and other toys, plus an accessible baby-change room. Parents particularly appreciate the toddler-friendliness.  ‘There are not many places where you can relax with friends while the children have fun with toys,’ said one mother.

It’s a handy place to go when you’re shopping at Goldsworth Park or after an appointment at the Health Centre next door to us.

People of all ages come here to meet friends.  For others it’s a social lifeline, because they know they can arrive without knowing anyone, receive a friendly welcome, chat to people and maybe make new friends.

One regular customer said the most important thing to him is the welcome he always gets.  “The food is delicious and good value, but it’s the people working here who make it special,” he said.
